What:
A Negroni Sbagliato is a variation of an Italian cocktail called the Negroni - a bitter shell of a drink that people consume to feel... something? anything? because they hate themselves?
For this variation, however, the gin is replaced with sparkling prosecco or a lighter, bubblier drink.
Why:
If Grayson Hawthorne was a drink, he'd be a Negroni. Don't argue with me. Add a sweet wine *OUT OF NOWHERE* to the mix, you've got a cocktail everyone was rooting for... but in my opinion, it falls flat.
Why Not:
I thought to myself... Berkeley. They're getting rid of your favorite beveragino, ginny. You must not tempt fate. But alas, I love THE GAME, and I enjoy the occasional prosecco. So I did.
It was wrong. So very wrong. And you know what?
Fun Fact:
The name originates from the Italian word sbagliato, which means “wrong” or “mistaken,” as in, “I done messed up and put sparkling wine in this despised cocktail instead of my trusted partner, ginny (gin).”
ORIGIN:
Bar Basso, in Milan, claims to have invented the cocktail. They should stop making this embarrassing claim.
